Mussoorie is situated at a distance of of about 250 miles from Delhi. This is a very well known hill station. It has been accorded the title of the 'queen of hills' for its stupendous beauty. The scenic beauty of the place drag tourists from different parts of India. Mussoorie is situated at an elevation of 7000 feet above the sea level. This hill station was discovered by an army officer in 1827 whose name was Young.
Mussoorie gives an astounding sight of the mighty snow covered Himalayas. The visit to Mussoorie will leave a cherished memory of the place in your mind even after years. This town gives a spectacular view of the Doon Valley. Another good thing about Mussoorie is its pleasant weather. The best time to visit this place is either between mid April to mid May or September to November. The winters are spine chilling whereas the summers are warm with a pleasant climate. The Kempty Waterfall is very famous throughout India for being the largest waterfall. Trekking has attracted many who loves adventuring. Nag Tibba in Mussoorie is an ideal trekking spot.

Gun Hill
- Enjoy a Ropeway ride to the second highest peak of Mussoorie. It can also be negotiated by bridle Path which forks off from Mall road near Kutchery and takes twenty minutes. The ropeway distance is only 400 mtrs. And the sheeker thrill of the ride is memorable.
Gun Hill offers a beautiful panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges namely Bundarpunch, srikantha, pithwara, Gangotrin Group etc. and a bird’s eye view of mussoorie town and Doon Valley. During Pre-Independence days, a gun mounted on this top was fired to herald mid-day. This enabled people to adjust their watches hence the name. |
